Re: Caterpillar Makes A Smart Phone

After cracking the screen on my Galaxy Note 3 that is in contract and out of insurance yesterday, a rugged phone sounds nice. Stuck using an Iphone 4S now. Hopefully the replacement screen kit from amazon works.

Too had they are a few years behind in technology. Why do companies think just because we want rugged, we are luddites.

Re: Caterpillar Makes A Smart Phone

A good phone case is worth every penny.

I am still on an iPhone 5 I got the second day they were released, years ago, with zero issues. Simple stuff like keeping the screen into my leg protects the screen. My Bjorklader pants have a pocket on the back of the left leg I use for my phone. I have a padded case that clips onto my bags also. When out on the boat it goes into a Pelican case, along with the smart key for the car. Pretty simple, just keep stupid at bay...says the guy who washed his previous phone wrapped up with the bedding. DOH!

Looking forward to more phones being water proof, as my happy place typically involves water and most often salt water. Would be nice if there was one depth rated to a couple hundred feet, without a case. One can only dream at this point.

Re: Caterpillar Makes A Smart Phone

Just came across these the other day. Seem great on the surface, plenty rugged, but as others said the insides of them are ****. Too bad. Though they are about half the price of a new to market smart phone so they are accounting for that. I'd gladly switch from my Note to the Cat phone and gladly pay the same amount if it was updated.

Re: Caterpillar Makes A Smart Phone

I like the toughness of these types of phones. The problem is they are always 2 or three years behind in technology.
