Anyone Familiar With Squidoo.com

Came across an interesting site: www.squidoo.com

Does anyone have any knowledge on putting together "lens" there?

Re: Anyone Familiar With Squidoo.com

yup sure do.

it's pretty simple once you understand the true concept of the site... which took me a second.

Think of a lens as a mini-encyclopedia on one subject, and you are the author.

For example, let's say you want to build a lens about... playing poker.

You could build your lens to include links to good poker playing websites, links to books on amazon.com that people can buy about the topic, add Google map links to the locations of the WSOP, etc.

The idea is to share your knowledge on a topic for others to learn from you.

This can certainly be used as a marketing tool. I haven't truthfully messed with it to this extent, as most customeres I deal with are not "hi-tech" people, and it takes more explaining than its usually worth.

Here's an idea I just thoght of...

You could build a lens for your hometown. Include information about places to stay, places to see, events, restaurants, etc. You could also include a directory of links of recommended business's in the area... of which you'rs just happens to the recommend business in your industry.
