I think it's only on Comcast. I'm pretty sure that Comcast produces it. It is actually called "American Builder". It's one of the very few with actual real contractors and not actors. Naturally, everything put on TV is diluted quite a bit, but it remains a good show anyhow.

"“CN8’s AMERICAN BUILDER”
Exclusively on CN8, The Comcast Network
Weeknights 6:30pm
This reality-based home improvement show takes viewers onto the job site, into the dust and debris, and along side General Contractor Brian Gurry as he manages real commercial, residential and industrial projects.
Unlike conventional improvement shows where everything is staged for television, “American Builder” follows real world projects from start to finish. Viewers can see Gurry solve problems with tricks of the trade, hard-earned experience and sometimes a 20-pound sledgehammer. Behind every sheet of drywall or concrete block is a problem, challenge or surprise waiting to test the skill and nerves of Gurry and his crew. They sweat every detail and show what it takes to get the job done. After all, the hardest thing to build in construction is a solid reputation and their name is on the line every day.
In addition to featuring a variety of building projects, “American Builder” examines other aspects of construction. “Beyond Builder” segments often times take viewers away from the construction site for reports on architecture, design and decorating. “American Builder” showcases all aspects of construction from start to finish, and everything in-between.
“American Builder” airs exclusively on CN8, The Comcast Network weeknights from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Miss a show? No problem. “American Builder” is available to Comcast Digital cable customers via ON DEMAND for at least three days following the original broadcast.
CN8, The Comcast Network provides more than 9 million Comcast cable viewers with a unique brand of live, interactive television delivered over its own fiber-optic network to 12 states and 20 television markets stretching from Maine to Virginia and Washington, D.C. Visit www.cn8.tv or www.cn8.tv/americanbuilder "

Re: American Contractor

American Builder keeps it real alright. i don't know how many times I have seen the hammer fly out of the hands of that klutx kid. This past Sunday not fifteen minutes after 8 am he steps on a nail and loses his temper. Then you see a drill fall down the stairs after he kicks or throws it. I saw him demo a kitchen dropped ceiling last year using the Tasmanian devil method of deconstruction. Just close your eyes spin around like a dust devil and start flailing with your hammer. He would last 15 minutes on my job site before I sent the kid packing. I think the first time i saw the show they had a power auger run away from them down a hill while drilling deck footings. The same deck they laid out stringers. You know how? By buying a pre cut stringer at a home center, stepping it off, and tracing it onto a 2 x 12, Then they probably threw the short home center pattern in the dumpster.

and then theres that weird cross eyed looking girl that doesn't know anything that does the small DIY segments. Sunday she wallpapered a closet with some sorta cedar plank wallpaper that you can cut with a knife.

Now tell us what you really think?? . . .

I never saw it myself, - - but my favorite of all these shows was MONSTER HOUSE, - - great entertainment, - - slap-fights 'n all . . .

Re: American Contractor

I watched American Builder once. Guy used a circular saw to cut a radius on a finished piece of moulding, last time I ever watched it.
