Ad-Aware Found Problems

My Ad-Aware founde some problems.
Any good ideas how to get rid of this stuff?

Virtumonde
Data Miner
Reg key

I think this is what is making these damn pop ups happen everytime I use Explorer.
Most of the time, it takes me to WINFIX, and makes me download it no matter what I do.
I have tried hard to get rid of it, but it will not go away.

what's up?

Re: Ad-Aware Found Problems

Virtumonde is a Data Miner and it's in your Reg key?
Ad Aware should take you through the step to get rid of it

I use three so I don't remember exactly how AA does it so I'm running one now

Re: Ad-Aware Found Problems

You should just click the box next to the listing, then click next

It looks like a baddy though, it is a pop-up deal
You may need to go to the ad-aware site for more detailed removal instructions

Re: Ad-Aware Found Problems

Yep.

AdAware, SpyBot, ZoneAlarm.

Industry benchmarks, all Highly Recommended.

Boot in SafeMode, then run your anti-spyware apps. Suredly you have an AV app running (NAV, CA, McAfee- run them as well).

When in doubt, FDisk, reformat, reinstall.

Do a Google for DelPart.exe- kills Everything on your NTFS HD, absolutely clean drive for reformat, install.

(My Dirty Secret- finish carpenter AND Microsoft Certified Network Engineer... like carpentry Better).

Send me an email at erik_edlund@verizon.net if more Qs...

try spy-bot
Have it, tried it. Didn't get rid of it.

ZoneAlarm.
I will try that.

Quote:
Boot in SafeMode
I will try that too.

I do delete like Ad-Aware asks, but it does not eliminate the problem.

Re: Ad-Aware Found Problems

Sorry to hear about your problems Flor. I've been through it all before.

There should be special prosecution for the guys that write these programs. I'm thinking of crucifiction or being buried up to their necks in sand and pouring honey on their heads.

The Panda search will take a lot of time
It will find something (it always finds something)
It will not remove it w/o you purchasing the product

Don't get me wrong, the Panda stuff is great, I was a loyal customer till the "Update Crash" mess a few years ago
But the free removal at the site is gone

My Apologies for that advice !!! I was Mistaken.

Thats why I listed the Trend Micro Link.

Seems I had some kind of virus on my other laptop and was able to remove and repair using "HouseCall" it was Reasonably Fast too.

Good Luck
