Accounting Software $

How do or would you come up with the amount of money you would spend on accounting software?

Or you estimating and other software?

Re: Accounting Software $

I had meant, what reasoning or measure do people use to buy a $300.00 or $5,000.00 piece of software.

Re: Accounting Software $

It all boils down to 'how fast do you want to go'.

For software, its what features you need and want and would be nice to have. That sets the price range.

To determine payback or savings, etc., you look at the system you're using now and expected savings.

Its just like any other tool purchase, really. If it saves you time, makes your job easier or more accurate then you invest the amount you can afford.

Once you narrow the range of $ down is when it gets hard to make a decision. Generally you can download demos and play with them a while to get the feel of them.
