Would You Use This Service?

My husband and operate our business together. He does all the painting, I do the paperwork. Our state has a Construction Registry that all contractors can file on to show they are a GC or Sub on every project. This is a "pre-lien" process that our state requires to file a lien. If you do this then you can be paid from a Lien Recovery Fund that all Licensed Contractors pay into every year.
Last year I attended a three hour class offered by the state and today a shorter offered by a lawyer. Both are required Continuing Education required by the state for your license.
Both classes I noticed that most other contractors had no clue about this program and left with more questions than they came with.
I was able to answer questions about the program that the lawyer did not know. Several contractors came up to me afterwards wanting to know if I would help them navigate the system.
OK, if you are still with me, here is my question.
As a contractor, would you be interested in someone handling the whole process for you? No dollar amounts are given, it is all public record.
Thank you

Yes this is a great service and in Florida it is big business,

We use this lien service all the time and they send out Notice To Owners also. We do hundreds of sales a year and work with alot of contractors also and you need to have it done right to be able to collect if you need to go to court.

Good luck.

Re: Would You Use This Service?

To clarify: This is not to file a lien, just manage the pre-lien process required.

Thanks! I am wondering if I have found a new niche to start a new business!

Yes this would be a great new business. You are right about the lien we have to file our own liens. But the process is the most important. Without the do process you are screwed.
