Wooden Post For Arbor: Booted Or Buried???


What is the best way to install wooden post for arbor in the DFW area? Need to clarify this, please any input is greatly appreciated

For every foot of height , drop it in the ground 1 foot and you will be fine.
Or give more details?

Thanks Knucklehead, these are usualy 10' tall structures, someone insist
that it has to be booted with concrete screws so the post can be exchanged when this is needed.
I'm not sure if this is the best way, or simply just set the post in concrete.

Depend on where you live, ground condition, height of the structure, and the design (number of posts and they are connecting to each other). I would just set them in concrete-- about two feet in the ground.
