Winter Company Get Togethers?

During the summer we have company fishing trips and other get togethers. It seems like every winter we go 5 months without any functions. Do any of you hold get togethers during the winter and if so what do you do?

I was looking at taking everyone out for diner and a comedy show. The only issue is that neither will provide enough time for them to chat and shoot the crap. This Friday I am taking 3 of my people to a home show but that does not really count.

Are you working over the winter, or just taking it easy?
Several of our guys are doing their own jobs. One is fixing long neglected things in my house, and a couple more are overhauling our yard.
8 of our men do snowplowing for us.

So we stay in touch that way.

We work year round so long as the weather is above 20 degrees. I was going to get everyone together for a roofing party at my house but they all have bad backs. Everyone one of my crews can do roofing but their backs prevent it .

Do they have doctor's certificates? Is this back pain manifesting itself only when you need your roof done (for free, I'm guessing!!), or does it show up on the job as well? Is it something that Worker's comp should know about?

All legit pre-existing conditions. If I had a roofing party then everyones back would go out . A couple times a month I will get a call from one of them complaining about their back, generally when they want my help for the day

Yes, on Friday to see what our competitors are offering and on Sunday to see how many leads everyone got. We are doing the show in Foxboro in a couple of weeks.

Do you have a booth at the Expo?

I don't know what you have over there but around here you can rent large ice fishing houses and have a party in them.

I live on a lake, 40' from my house to the water. If I found ice fishing a little more sporting I might entertain the idea.
