Where To Advertise?

where do you guys usually advertise, if at all. I'm trying to get a small handyman business going to help pay my tuition, put an ad in the paper and havent gotten any calls yet. What do you guys recommend?

Flyers ON (not IN) mailboxes is how I got my start. You will get some people to call I bet. I had calls within 4 hours the first time I put them out. And got a few jobs from them.

A local "Penny Saver" type freebee weekly
The kind where you can buy a full/half/quarter/biz-card-sized ad, and has lots of classifieds for cheap
Start off with the classifieds
Pretty cheap and you should get a good response
Especially if you run something every week, that's the best way

Re: Where To Advertise?

J the best place to advertise is where your customers are. You either have to find out what the customers you want to work for are listening to, watching or reading and advertise there (TV, radio, local newspaper, HOA newsletter, Church newsletter...), or you have to find out where your customers are located and get your advertisement into their hands (direct mail, flyer, door hanger)
