Re: What's The Most Effective?

1) Well So far I have my 3 vehicles lettered. $900.00 ruffly

2) 12 Tee shirts, 6 ball caps, 8 hoodies. $ 400.00 ruffly (enough for whole family to wear) have your family wear a shirt once a week but not same day and where yours everyday.

3) Yellow Book Pages ( stay in your budget) I got a 2x2 full color ad for $2500.00 a year ruffly I just did this one too book comes out in july or june?

4) Just started to try this one flyers 1000 copies for $50.00 and $6.00 for rubberbands so far I only put out 85 of them and got 2 hits and signed contracts. This one is very time consuming unless you have kids that like to make money. (sweat shop)

This is all I have done so far this year. But th emost effective I have is word of mouth.

Hammerwhipped,

We've always heard that referrals is the best form of advertising, but I don't agree. Word-of-mouth is the best advertising for the money, but unless your client list includes all millionaires, referrals alone are unlikely to grow your business.

In my opinion, I don't believe there is a "most effective and least costly form of advertising." Marketing covers too wide a range to choose just one. Just consider all the tools available:

yellow pages
flyers
door hangers
company brochure
signage on vehicles
yard signs
business cards
mail programs
radio
tv
public relations
the appearance of workers in the field
the way you answer the phone
etc., etc., etc.

We need a marketing program.

My two cents.

Re: What's The Most Effective?

My newest idea, occurred to me at 3 am this morning when a lady called wanting me to come out and fix a flapping piece of tin on her roof because she couldn't sleep.

Helium filled balloons with flyers attached on strings!
It should work as well as anything else i've tried lately.

Every form of advertising is hit or miss including walking up to the HO's door and begging for work like the canvassers do.

As I offer 24 hr EMERGENCY service I am required to answer at 3 am.
Just make sure it's a REAL EMERGENCY! lol
Flapping tin does not constitute an emergency for me.
I did go out and fix it at 7:30, made a tidy $175 off of it.

It was nail pops on ridgecap and 2 sheets of galvanized.....If I have to climb a ladder, it's gonna cost someone.

I came home and took a nap around 12 to make up for the phone call.
