What Was Your Last Thing You Did That Required An Ass Kicking For Yourself?

What was the last thing you did that you really pissed yourself off with? For me it was just this morning. A customer I met back in March of last year called me up to say "Hey, remember me? You came out and did an estimate for us a while ago and we are ready to do it." Me - "Anything different then what we came up with?" - them - "Nope, pretty much just like we talked about." - me 'Okay, lets meet on Thursday and sign the paperwork."

Get off the phone and go to my computer open the "old estimates" folder - no sign of their estimate. Search the recycle bin on the computer, nothing.

Start remembering back how about a month ago I went through and deleted stuff that I figured was dead. Sure enough I remember looking at their folder and thinking "What a waste of time they were..." - delete...

I didn't get born into a rich family.

didn't keep the 66 Mustang convertible I bought in 1974 as a used car.

Had sons instead of daughters.

Went into the construction business.

The last thing that pissed me off was 2 hours ago. Was pulling a buddies truck out of the mud up a hill and was almost there when I too got stuck. Decided to unchain & re-position a little. I wanted to hit it hard in reverse. Silly me forgot I was in drive, my Avalanche plowed his truck which was in neutral, and it almost went over the hillside with him running after it. I much as I pissed myself off, it was still hilarious.

Had to go back to a customers house to adjust the hot water temp in the shower and get the final payment. As I pull up in front of the house I proceede to sideswipe her car.

Not doing enough in a day. Wouldn't it be nice to have 30 hours a day, 8 days a week. the extra time goes to holidays and family!

Take it easy, and the easy will look after you!

Re: What Was Your Last Thing You Did That Required An Ass Kicking For Yourself?

I was installing 2 checkered aluminum access panels over a sump pump pit at a theatre today.
While removing the second rusted out original steel panel that was seized up good, I dropped my 1 month old 20 ounce Fat Max anti vibe hammer. Ker plunk, into the water it went 10 ft. below I was almost gonna dive in after it but quickly came to my senses.

Then there was the time that I left a fuse in the panel just a little loose. This fuse was for the stove fan that I replaced and also for the freezer in the basement with $600 worth of soon to be rotted meat

Last but not least was the time that I was drilling knob holes into about 13 kitchen cabinet doors. Twelve were in the right spot...one wasn't. Had to buy a new door...with glass in it

Ron, think 'rare earth magnet'. Lee Valley sells some that come with a hole in them for a piece of string, tie it to a stick and get your hammer back!
