Re: Want To Hear About A Crazy Collection????
I was a BOA customer for over 20 years. I had a personal chekcing account, a rental account, a contracting business, financed my house, an apartment house, a couple of cars. The apartment house payment was an automatic withdrawel from Western Bank by BOA. BOA started taking out more than was agreed upon and I had checks bounce. To cover those bounced checks, I had to move money from the business and personal accounts and my savings account. This incurrred late payment fees, penalty fees, bounced check fees. My bookkeeper and Western Bank, not BOA, found the cause of the problem was that BOA was taking more money than they were entitled to take. BOA denied any wrongdoing, still charging me fees and penalty and interest. With the help of Western Bank, we stopped BOA from taking my money. For almost a year, I wrote and phoned BOA about this problem. I never had anyone return a phone call or letter to me. I finally fired the bastards. During the same time, I paid off an operating loan. I got the pay off from BOA, and immediatly wrote a check and paid off the operating loan. BOA denied receiving the payment and tried to charge me interest because they were getting no payments. I madesome rude comments when BOA people called to find out why I was not making payments on the loan. The odd thing, when I got the payoff, and made the final payment, I was in a BOA branch office.
Prior to this, I did some service at 3 BOA branches, they did not pay their bills on time. My local BOA branch people were great to work with, but the upper levels were and I am sure, still are low-life bastards. |

Re: Want To Hear About A Crazy Collection????
Doing business with a small bank is always best in the long run.
Bank of Boston was never a small bank, but then they were "merged" with Fleet and now that is BOA. Each "growth" got worse. A bank down the street was "Norfolk County Trust" and was a good little bank to do business with, many branches, decent services, fees, and interest. After many "mergers" they are now BOA. High fees, low interest, poor service. I got out after the first merge twenty years ago. My local bank with five branches does well and THEY KNOW ME. |

Re: Want To Hear About A Crazy Collection????
We are in the process of firing BOA as well. We are down to our last account over there, have four accounts with a small bank and they know us by name.
