I HATE most AMAZON DELIVERY PEOPLE
Why I hate them?

They ask who you are when they deliver the package and what relation you have to that person. I tell them it none of their business.

Then if you do tell them they stand there looking at the machine trying to figure it out. This results in a door slam in the face.

They also walk into my backyard and put at the back door. so it's safe.. can't wait to catch them when they do this.

but like cwatbay said the prices.... damn you can save some money on odd stuff.

I know they are not the brightest but when they ask who you are you get mad at them since they obviously need to document who accepted the package?

And when they are typing your info into the machine you slam the door in their face and you also get upset that they are leaving the package at the rear door?

Personally I am glad if they put it at my rear door instead of sitting out in the front where everybody can see it

They can barely speak English, have to almost spell it out for them.
All they need to ask is are you Mike? and move on.

Whatever they are typing they don't need me watching them, would be common courtesy to move along and not waste my time but no they stand there like I'm going to tip them . Canadapost, UPS, DHL all to the point and fast. I know I sound like an ass but a minute a day adds up, life is too short. Yes, I really order that much off amazon. Sometimes 3 amazon deliverys in the same day even tho ordered at same time, diff warehouses I'm guessing.

They block my storm door from opening. Leave my back gate open. My dogs go ape**** because my gate makes noise (on purpose) my shop is back there. If it's too expensive or not safe in the front they should bring to the post office.
I can see how most people like the back door drop off. Just not my house.

If you are only ordering hard to find custom parts for jobs why don't you have them either delivered to the job site or to your home instead of a storage facility? If parts are not too large I often have them delivered direct to the customer. I do this for specialty hardware on the custom stairs I build. Usually railing hangers and the like.

Leaving the gate open is not cool but If you are not home you expect them to deliver it to the post office?

I have to admit if I was a delivery driver there is no way I would open somebody’s gate to access their backyard between dogs and people loving to shoot trespassers I wouldn’t do it, i would leave it by the gate

Re: Use Caution When Using Amazon

FWI I had a Fed ex guy pass me in a development and when I got home a box van from fed ex was delivering a package for me, so I told him some douche in a van passed me on the left side.

Long story short even though they say fed ex they are private delivery contractors. He said something about the color of the arrow thats how you can tell if its really fed ex....

That you expect in CA, most of the people are on drugs there

We don't have that mess here, everything is shipped via UPS or FedEx and if deliveries made on Sundays, local post office delivers them.

I can't wait to see what happens when they start with that new thing where you install a lock with a cam and they have access to you place to put the packages inside your house.

Re: Use Caution When Using Amazon

Here is an update. The cameras at the facility caught the Amazon driver throwing the package over the 8 ft high gate, so that it was on the locked side of the gate. Luckily nothing was breakable in the package, since it landed on cement.

Another tenant grabbed the package the next morning, but didn't take it to the office until Monday morning. Remember, this was delivered Friday night, the office was open on Saturday.

The tenant that grabbed the package, opened it up to see what was inside, then decided on Monday to take it to the office. Where I picked it up Monday afternoon.

I know this other tenant and we are kinda friends. He is a total "fruitcake" low end painting contractor. He said he didn't see the label with my company name and info, because it was on the bottom of the package

Think about this. The Amazon driver goes inside your house. OK. You have a cam there watching him. No problem. He remains an honest guy, doesn't take anything.

But he can case your place for his pals. He can tell them when your not home, where the cam or cam's are, where the alarm is and so forth.

Yeah, maybe not the delivery guy, but how about all of his pals, how do you make sure they don't come back with info on you and your house.

The only semi safe way to implement that would be to have a locked porch and then another locked door to the house. That way Amazon can open the door and put the package inside without getting into the house.

So I have to build out a porch on my home that the delivery guy can leave packages and pay for video monitoring so I can save a few bucks by ordering online

Lol

Re: Use Caution When Using Amazon

I was planning on making a large box and fastening it to the cement with a padlock that can be locked without key.

Yes, that's exactly it. Keeps the local contractor busy too.

You not paying for video monitoring, from what I understand the cam is part of the lock system they will provide you with you.

I'm not sure how it works and all the details, I just saw the commercial on TV.

If I was sending stuff to my residence, that would be one thing. But this is commercial warehouse space that is comprised of many, many units. It is already built and so forth. Can't do my own thing on their property.
