Update Dunn & Bradstreet
Thanks to that link that was posted. Came into the office this morning and did the free report. EXACT same report we were charged 349.00. Needless to say, I was on the phone asap and got the credit card charge credited. I complained that they charged us 350.00 for the same report I can obtain for free. I guess what you are paying for is yearly monitoring and are able to pull reports daily. He KNEW we didn't need that. What a SCAM!! Boss is very happy I got it reversed

Look for that $349.00 to be credited to this weeks paycheck (yours).

I wish that sort of thing happened. I cut our Yellow pages bill from 26,000$ a year to 11,000$, and doubled our web exposure, included. I doubt it will be in my X-mas bonus check, though.

I saved one of my other contractors 10,000 this year in liability and workmans comp insurance. Besides, I don't look for a monetary compensation, afterall - I am doing my job that I get paid for, and quite honestly I am not cheap. I am fortunate enough that I do get the "attagirl" , and am appreciated. !

I'm going to do the same thing. I've been monitoring my lead generators all season, and my $22000 in Yellowpages produces about 10% of what my $20,000 in magazine ads produce. I'll be cutting back the YP enormously!

Yep, I noticed that almost all of the calls from the yellow pages were no good, to say nothing of the fact that 90% of our business is from daily repeat customers. Since we are operating over our real capacity, it doesn't make much sense to blow the bucks to pull in a few PITA one-timers anyway. Had it been entirely up to me, the bill would have been 48 bucks a month: one bolded entry in the yellow pages, period. The owner has been blowing big bucks for 30 years on yellow pages, though, and is reluctant to go THAT far (this year).
I didn't get the money in my pocket, but I did get it added to what I can spend on other advertising, which will be trade magazine ads. Combined with my co-op dollars, I will have more than I have ever been able to use.
This is good, because I like making ads, and get instant response on good ones, targeted to the proper market.
