Union......painters ????

iv'e been painintg for almost 13 years. business has always been really good but now im having trouble finding work... does anyone know how to join chicago's painters union??? or have details about a good one?? i mostly hear bad things about union painters does anyone have good stories???

I started a new painter about 4 weeks ago.... Said he's been laid off from the union for about six months. When his side jobs ran out, he started calling open shops like me.

Even the big boys are hurting.
