Lots of advertising

networking and socializing

doing what I say and leaving a good impression on my clients

hanging door knockers in areas where I am working and starting conversation with the neighbors which usually lead to work

Letting my suppliers know exactly what I do and the type of customers I want and have them refer me for business

Being a nice to everyone with in reason

Going above and beyond even when I don't feel like it

Making sure I hire the right guys and making sure they represent my company well

Coming to forums like this and gathering information to make me a better contractor and learn new techniques

Continue my education and joining organizations that help me improve my image and knowledge

Having a professional image for the most part

I have a unique personality and it shines through and use it to my advantage

Always respect my customers home and leave it in a better condition than I found it

Find a niche or job that your company excels at and make that your focus, Find a specialty and build a system that makes you the best at what you do and not do everything all the time but do what your good at and makes you the most profit

Whew I am tired

I heard of many ways of getting clients but it has been tuff. I heard of this site called FindATop . com where people come to Find Top Professionals. Times are just realy slow for me because of this real estate market.

good Advice but the way the market is, i feel like it is what it is and we just all have to wait till something clicks in this housing market for new construction and improvments. Have you seen a decrease in your area in terms of new jobs?

I don't mean to be Mr. knowitall, but shouldn't this thread be in Business Discussion?

Should be know it all or know-it-all would be acceptable.

I beg to differ, but my last name is Mr. Knowitall, not Know it all. Sheesh.
