Time And Material Jobs.

I was just wondering how you guys charge for T and M jobs. Ive been doing a bunch of them this year, and still have a few more to do. Not asking how much, just how you charge.

When does time start/stop when materials are supplied?

When does time start/stop when you are picking up materials? (in the morning or during the day while working or at the end of the day)

Is your overhead/profit included in the hourly price or do you charge what you want to make hourly and mark up a percentage for overhead/profit?

Just making sure im charging the right way to ensure im not loosing any money or leaving any money out there....Not to say im loosing money...You guys know what i mean..

Re: Time And Material Jobs.

I would start off with a half day minimun rate. This amount should cover your overhead expenses( gas, insurance etc). The clock should start when you get to the job site and end when you leave for the day. The time to pick up material is part of your work day.You might want to use a trip charge too to cover excessive travel time.
Hope this helps.
