Suggestions For A Newer Company

Hello,
As a newer company looking for advice, what labor pricing and pricing method would you suggest?
A flat rate per type of job to compete with the "Home Depot" type pricing like $59.00 for basic door installation, with disclaimers built in?
Hourly rate with written estimate after inspecting the job site?

Most work is light remodeling, some concrete work in Cincinnati, Ohio area. Customers generally have the materials. Wondering what kind of labor pricing you might be seeing in the Cincinnati area. Have many good references but might not be charging a fair price, probably too low.
All good advice appreciated,
Thank you

Don't compete with HD... That's not the league to be in. Figure out how much YOU need to charge.

Fixed rate pricing is what we do. We figure time & materials, overhead, profit, etc... come up with a single figure.

We don't do time and materials and especially run from customers who have their own materials, and I mean run as fast and as far away as possible.

Remodeling and construction or handyman? The stuff you described is Craigs List handyman stuff and will put you out of business in less than 6 months. Shoot for $80 per hour plus materials and markup and you may be able to stay alive.
