Stonemasons

Does anyone know what the cost of labor for a stone mason should be per square foot?

Re: Stonemasons

If you are a real mason, you should be able to calculate it.

Add up the costs (wages, workmans comp, fringe, benefits, insurance, etc.) and divide by the average production (sf) for a average job.

depends on market price, not your costs. If your cost are above market price, ur in trouble.

They seem to be about 2-1/2 times that of a brick mason in my area for a "real stone" mason. Matter of fact, it's hard to find a mason in my area that will work with stone. They seem like a pretty well aged batch of men.

Stone work is cheap around here. Plenty of rock pounders speaking spanish. You would laugh at what they get per SqFt, Stacker.
