Since Everyone Is Always Asking About Pricing...

I thought I'd post a link to this contractor that just started here a few months ago in my area. They have their prices listed right on the site. I'm not advertising for these people. I just thought everyone who's always asking those pricing quetions might like to take a look.

Looks like copyright infringement to me. I wonder how ABC feels about that.

Yeah, seems like they tried make it look like they are affiliated with the Extreme Makeover TV show... but somehow I am doubtful.

Re: Since Everyone Is Always Asking About Pricing...

That can't include materials. Kitchen cabinets cost me around $180 a ln ft to build PLUS materials, and I'm not even going to TRY to paint any room of a house for $250. These people need to be shot.

Seems to me it's a cherry picker ad. This ype of sh** just makes it more difficult for everyone else. It's high pressure sales, low quality work and change order 'adjustments' to make the nut with the HO bleeding from the ***hole at the end of the job.

Re: Since Everyone Is Always Asking About Pricing...

A lot of these prices seem to be bait and switch. Call HO's in using your cheapest base rates and then jack prices for higher quality or larger sized areas or materials.

Logical to do this? Legal to do this? These are the biggest questions I can ask on this.

The bait and switch pricing will cost him jobs in the long run so logic is out.

As bait and switch isn't legal, I'd sit back and watch them go down in flames.

Exterior painting a small 1000 sq ft house using wal-mart brand paint and a $50 sprayer..... I can see him making a profit..... Notice he doesn't promote quality or good looking finished projects. Just a nice low estimate.

They should definately add a disclaimer about their pricing to make this legal though.
