Quick Books E-Mailing Invoices
Does anyone use the e-mail function in QB. I have a customer who has several houses and I never know exactly where he will be. I do know his local house is inaccessible in winter so he is not around here.
Anyway, I usually e-mail his invoices through QB. What it does is log onto the web I believe to send the mail. I do not get a sent copy in Outlook. I also cannot ask for a read receipt. I do NOT like this method of sending e-mail and feel something is out of my control when the program is sending the mail. I do have the "E-mail" bubble checked, not the "Mail through QB" bubble. Anyone have any idea of a better way to e-mail an invoice from QB?

Re: Quick Books E-Mailing Invoices
I email invoices quite frequently. Infact I do it when ever I have their email address.
One thing to note, I ALWAYS send a hard copy via US Postal when ever I email or fax something critical like an invoice. Preferrably I like it when I can drop off the invoice and pick up the check at the same time. One other thing to mention, usually when ever I send file attachments, such as invoices (quick books sends them as an attachment) I also send a second email as a verification just letting the customer know what the attachment is and to check their "bulk/spam" folder if they did not receive it. |

Re: Quick Books E-Mailing Invoices
Another method of sending the invoice would be to print the invoice to a pdf file and send it manually yourself.
I have Adobe PDF Writer and pretty much any file I send to a customer I first convert to a PDF. Adobe Writer is expensive and there are much more affordable solutions which convert to PDF... but the jist of what I am saying is to first print to the invoice to a pdf file which saves on yoru hard drive, then send that file as an attachment. I think that's alot of extra work when QB does the hard work for you, but to each his own. |

Re: Quick Books E-Mailing Invoices
I use it all the time
Some customers love it I use the QB browser, like it seems you are doing You can always put your business e-mail in the CC box (copy sent to) That way when it goes through, you'll get a copy too That way you'll know if it "took" and got through OK |
