Program For Estimating In Writing Bids

I'm looking for a free or paid version.

I'm looking for a program where you buy it and not a monthly subscription.

This leaves me with more questions than answers.

How would you expect the software to work. What would you expect it to do.

Since everyone does bids in so many different ways and there no one software that ever seems to work well for myself. The problem with canned software is all the useless whistles and bells make the software so cumbersome to use it is better to use rag paper and the old lead pencil.

I will bet that there is no practical software you can buy and own for your specific purpose.

Thank you for the information. I was just wondering what program would be good for writing bids. Any good program for estimating for cost and labor. Although I don't mind doing the cost of materials with a quick search of using suppliers app or website to get prices. So really a bid building software would be great.

No software is going to know your numbers out of the box.

As for writing bids any good word processor should do there are several options office Google apps open office hell you could write it in notepad if you really wanted to.

Thank you! So really if I check prices anyways it would be pointless for me to use an estimator?

I'm not saying it's pointless it can be helpful to have a quick way to get pricing.

What I'm saying is there is no off the shelf software that knows your numbers you have to enter the data.

Garbage in Garbage out. Excel can be a good starting point.
