Lowes cabinets

Got a call today from a manager at a new unopened Lowes store. My name was given to him by a contractor/customer of mine. He wants me to install cabinets. I've gone back into the archives to look for similar posts, but found none pertaining to Lowes cabinets. Can anyone give me any insight into this. My gut feeling is to walk away. Thanks.

Stick with that feeling.

You'll fill out a ream of paperwork that will follow you back to Ellis Island or Sitting Bull. Then you will sit for about 3 mos. until all of the paperwork is processed. After that, you can make SOME money until a management co. is hired, then you become a subcontractor/employee and the real headaches start.........My personal experience.

Some guys here claim to do well by them, maybe they have different rules for different areas.

You may get along great til you do an install with their "economy" grade of cabitnets and they end up looking like crap. If you don't need the work, I will second Teetor and tell you to walk or run.

I was contacted off and on by them to do electrical installs. Their price list didn't really appeal to me. What they pay to install a ceiling fan is less than I charge to show up and ring the doorbell.

I did installs a few times and we had nothing but constant issues, One is that when delivered you can't open them unless you have a lowes guy there for inspection and if there is any damage, there alot of bs to deal with, not worth it.

I worked on a $750,000 house and they spent 50,000 on lowes cabinets. They were not the chepest ones, but they still sucked. It took them months to get them right. They had to reorder pieces about 3 times. The lowes rep was hot though.
I would not do it if you dont need the work because I know you dont want the headache.
