Re: Lead Qualifying

I use to use a list of questions in order to see if the customer could afford the project and was someone that we wanted to deal with. I have since dumped the idea and will set an appointment for any homeowner that wants to see my products and hear about my company. If you start asking to many questions to will start to pre-judge the customer before you have a chance to even meet them in person.

I now have my office manager ask a few questions just to sound like we are interested, I could care less about the responses. All I need to know is the appointment time, will both homeowners be present, what styles are they looking for so I can bring displays and where they live.

There are qualifying questions one could ask to minimize a waste of time. You need to be discrete about it though. I know there are guys on here who can help you better then I can.

Re: Lead Qualifying

The two questions I always ask are:

Where do you live? This helps me get an idea if they're within the radius I'm willing to work in.

When did you want to begin the project? This immediately tells me if I can't do the job because I may be booked for that time already. Any hint of flexibility over the phone ensures I will follow up.

Re: Lead Qualifying

I'm a believer in the Dougchips system. I afraid following it though is bad for your wallet, it will wear it out prematurely due to it getting fat with profits.

About the only pre-qualifying I really want to do is discover if they are a realtor, a flipper or a landlord, those we pass on everytime, and we tell them why too. Funny how upset some people will get.
