Insuring Rental Equipment

when renting a large item such as a backhoe, and the rental store requires an endorsement for the rental, is there an additional fee onto the policy for this or is it part of the 'service' of the existing policy?

Re: Insuring Rental Equipment

Part of my GL / Bussiness Owner's policy had a line item for rental tools & equipment coverage. I denied it when I got the policy knowing I could add it when needed.

About a month ago I was at the rental tool place. I called my agent and placed the coverage, $3 per $1000 of coverage. No min premium. It was really for theft. Working in a bad neighborhood. The rental was hooked to my credit card so it was secured to the rental outlet but the ins would cover the problem or reimbursement.

Your agent can then fax a cert to the rental yard.

Yep, as above.

For big items, rental yards here charge a 14% premium for ins if it doesn't go on your own.

Around here they try to add it onto everything...heck, I'll bet they would try to add it to an anvil if they could get away with it....
