Insurance Carrier In NY?

I have started the, always fun, project of shopping for insurance. It is really hairy in NY because most companies don't even want to write it. I have an LLC and there is only two of us who work so I don't have to carry worker's comp, which is cool, but it's still impossible to find a decent rate for CGL. Make a long story short awhile back there was some legislation passed that totally boned contractors and the companies that write them and we actually got instantly dropped (and we NEVER even had one claim). So that's when I went to work for someone else for a while, time to recharge. I think alot of it has to do with the fact that there are very little licensing requirements, outside of the mechanical trades, in the state. I can understand the fact that some very bad contractors obviously screwed people and everyone else must pay but you would think the geniuses that run the Empire State would realize that maybe it is time to qualify contractors with licenses, like other states do. Maybe then any moron with a pickup truck wouldn't force the rates up for anyone else.

It's a little bit of a rant, but that's what shopping for insurance does to me. I'd love to hear any recommendations for a carrier or what people are paying for roughly around 1M coverage with a 1M umbrella.
