In what way?

We have done a few fire stations for different cities, but we always include a rider in the contract that GC pays us on our schedule, not the cities schedule.

Do you change toilets in city hall? I know for you that you have eluded to possibly being retired. So do you make the paper rolls whirl in said facilities..
Is there companies doing service for town building, I am not talking about bidding on building building, I mean servicing them.

When I did service work, the company I worked for did a lot of post office work, and we were glad to have it, the post office paid like clockwork.

we do landscape work on govt. projects. whether it be municipal, county, state, federal, etc.. we aren't doing the actual infastructure work but we are working for the GC who is. i like it 1000 times better than commercial work and 1000000 times better than residential.. this is 98% of our biz..

Re: Infrastructure Business

well one major reason is, 99.9% of the time im always gonna get paid. there is always a payment bond on the job to make sure the subs and suppliers get paid. i got a school job we did in april, company went outta business, didn't pay anyone. I just got the check last week sure it was wayyyy overdue but i did get paid, not to many people can say that. plus you have to be pretty legit to do work for the govt, sure some guys cut corners and dont pay rate but they always get caught and dont last long. so all my competition is paying the prevailing rate, same insurance, same material that is spec'd out, etc. its more of a level playing field. all my buddies that do residential and commercial landscaping are sucking wind right now to get work, because there is none. me im busy as hell, the govt is always gonna spend money on infastructure, not as much as they should or if the economy takes a dive they may spend less but in NJ they are always gonna spend money to justify our outrageous taxes... i see you were talking about service work though, we do mostly new planting/seeding, etc. no maintenance. just my 2 cents..
