IC Rates/Marketing??
I have joined not to long ago and I have been dong some research on past post but I am unable to find what I'm looking for. I am looking to relocate to Raleigh NC. I have been on a few interviews but found nothing that pays. A Estimator position and Project management positions are the only promising jobs. I currently am a traveling Tech. I don't like traveling, I hate snow, and Western PA is crap for work. I have a state electrical masters license for OH, VA, WV, NC. Instead of getting a van and being an electrical contractors competitor I was looking at providing Temp services. Charge X amount for 8 hours X amount for 24 hours ect. As a traveling tech the pay is great so I really don't want to miss out on that TO much. Basically show up for back log work is what I will be promoting and then eliminating the traveling work. I am working with my SBA both in PA, and in NC. both seem to be very helpful but they are really in the dark with it comes to marketing and a rate. I don't want to over price myself, but I don't want to leave money on the table. I was wondering if you guys can give me tips on how to research a new market for the need of a temp service and local rates. I know the best way is to shake hands and kiss babies so to speak. Any input will be great. If you need more info (Mahlere) let me know.
