IA And IL Sub Checklist To Ensure Payment

We are a subcontractor that does commercial interior finish work (drywall, framing, acoustical, insulation, etc.) in Iowa and Illinois and have been in business for 10 years. Most of our work is thru general contractors. I am looking for info and hope to use it to put together a checklist for other subs to use that gives the process of ensuring payment. I know that some states have pre-liens and others have Notices to Owners but I can't find the requirements for IA & IL. Also, would love it if someone could upload the forms that can be used with instructions.

Example:
Iowa
1. When contract received file this form: _______ and instructions ______
2. Within 90 days of completion file this form: ________ and instructions ______.

Same as above for Illinois.

I would really appreciate some help with this!

Welcome to CT

Before you get jumped by the posters, please do a quick intro in that section telling a little about yourself, your business, how long etc.

PS fill out your profile in a little more detail also.
