How About This One
Hi Rodney,
Re: the pole barn & plans - I'd assumed you would use standard pole barn plans - they are pretty common up here. And re: the trusses, I guess since there wont be many in a 20- foot long barn (ours up here has them every 12ft, so there would only be one in the open span) - an "attic" type truss would be fine. Or rafters - which is simpler? I forgot to mention: roof overhang: approximately 18 inches. There's no electricity, tools would need to be generator-run. No wiring. For painting - that will be 'owner to do" - we just want the basic shell. When you build these pole barns without electricity etc, what does your standard package include? Do you e.g. have a standard allowance for window, door? These will be "owner provide" so we can make some selection, we'll just need the rough framing and holes -m we'll provide you with rough opening dimensions based on our selection. Likely an attic window in each end 3'x3', a couple or 3 windows in the walls 4'x4', and for the moment, a 3-o door. i.e.. standard dimensions. We can indicate locations if that is needed for the plans - I was assuming for something as simple as a pole barn, plan requirements would be very simple or you would have stock plans. This is the scoop: we're assuming you have some experience building pole/post-frame barn structures. We're looking for something pretty basic. We have experience with pole barns, we had one built where we live here - which is why we thought this would be simple to contract out. We recognize this is a fairly simple small job, but it will be part of something larger in the future. This is the part we need to have built right now so we have a basic structure for the reasons I indicated. Given the time and other circumstances this summer, this is the scale we need to work with, with the larger "rest of the barn for our horses" built later once we get down there (1 year plus or minus). Thanks in advance, and if you have any more questions, please let me know can anyone guess where i got this reply from? they are in the "northwest" and will be coming down to new mexico for the construction of this barn (20 x 24) on june 3 through june 16 i have no plan, no subs lined up, i haven't even bidded it out yet they probably should have started this process last month i don't know about this one |
