Houston Area Builders and Project Mgrs- Are you prepared for high tech homes
Guys,
this is not a promotion, the reason for the post is the growing concern we have when working with builders, superintendents, and project managers of custom homes projects. Almost 80% of the projects involved high tech functions, lighting controls, home automation, security cameras and new high tech structured wiring.
The problems range from builders not planning adequate time to install these functions, architects not putting them on blue prints, and project managers not knowing when to have the work done.
We cater mostly to builders with very few HO builders. And it is amazing how much builder can save by properly scoping and managing high tech home project. From savings on how the electrical plans need to change (less wire) to delays because they cant cover untill we are done automating and wiring. And they didn’t think about it. Oh the most famous one, architects are famous for not putting high tech wiring, light controls, e.t.c on blue prints.
So we decided to help where we can in Houston Community we offer FREE 2 hour class on high tech features and their impact to the project. Because the information for builders and architects is different they are separate classes.
Lots of people starting to go to these classes and I had an idea of doing a web class for all who are interested. Is this something you would be interested in ? if yes please post here I will review.
Home Media Professionals is Houston largest home automation and electrical contractor, we specialize in smarthomes, lighting controls, custom home theaters and structured wiring. more at HomeMediaPros dot com

I think if you offered a webinar, you could triple your attendance and get to showcase your company to a vast minority of people.

You need to spend some money on educating the home buyers as well as the builders. If the HOs want it in their houses, they'll start asking their builders how much.
Most production home buyers cannot afford anything other than maybe a security system and a small 'home theatre'.
Big custom homes may get something cool in them, but I have found the majority of the people buying larger homes are retired, or near retirement and they don't want any fancy lighting gadgets in their houses, let alone have to pay extra for them. They are however good for security systems, cameras, some whole-home audio, and some home theatre.
