Finish line sample 1 .Shows the bubble in the lines which looks like trusses. Getting into more the finish part of the trade. Since 80 percent is flooring. That is pretty much established.

I like sample 1 . shows the bubble in between the lines but also shows what looks like trusses. getting into more of the carpentry part of the trade. since 80 percent of your biz is floors. saying you can do more. thats my opinion.

3,4,or 5 are your choices. 1,2 and 7 just dont look very good, 6 looks like you build decks, and 8 --although it looks "high-end" and classy, it totally doesnt fit with the name "finish line".........just my honest $.02

4 and 6 both look good. It conveys the message of high end carpenter.

Re: Having My Logo Re-designed. Would Appreciate Your Opinions Please

I agree that 8 exudes higher class, also with the lean towards green, this allows a prospective to infer w/o you implying.

AND I like the font as it is. Simple yet the serifs give it more class than a sans-serif.

The archway and flooring give a feeling of "welcome, come into our house". I think it will play better here in the northeast. Other areas of the country may do better with other styles...IMHO

All the others make the viewer decipher what they are looking at. And the round bubble one looks like a gun sight, and that ain't what you want. Remember, you're advertising to the HO not to the trades. Dumb it down, K.I.S.S.

I've decided on logo #4. My designer has brought the outer edges of the boards in closer to the text. Below is the new revision.

#8 , but, I would say that it could stand some name seperation:
'FINISHLINE'

That would make it easier to register, the first time the eye sets on it.

Give looking at it a break, then come back fresh.
Its so easy to not discriminate what is actually there -- once you have viewed it altogether continuously for a while.

One of the reasons we do logo's is to attact customers (like a small billboard) and you didn't tell us "who your target customer is?" You have some nice designs here but it's not what you or I like but will our target customer be attacted to us and buy from us that matters. Try looking at these designs knowing who your customers are...are they going to think you're going to charge them an arm and a leg for your products and services because your logo reflects that image? Just a thought.

Update:

I decided on logo #4, and added it to my website, business cards, stationary, and truck. I think this new logo fits my company well. I've already recieved 2 calls from my truck.

Re: Having My Logo Re-designed. Would Appreciate Your Opinions Please

I was going to go with #6 as far as style. The logo without the text is a very brandable logo for certain things. The others need the text and the logos don't really stand on their own. The boards as they are layed out also make an F. I don't know - #6 just seems to be more flexible in it's useage. That's the one main reason that I selected my logo - flexibility in it's useage.
The one you selected looks great as well
