GL Insurance
Does anyone know if it is possible to get GL insurance that will cover 2 companies owned by the same person in one policy?
Either 2 sole proprietorships or a corporation and its subsidiary. I have one company that focuses on large additions and remodels. I have work comp and GL Ins for that company. I would like to start a company for small projects with a different name. Hoping I can do this without having to get duplicate ins policies. Thanks |

Re: GL Insurance
I think your agent would be able to answer that question.

Re: GL Insurance
Shes on vacation for a week and the curiousity is killing me...
I just figured somebody else might have two different construction companies and be able to tell me if they got a blanket policy or if they needed two separate ones. |

Re: GL Insurance
Why would you want to share liabilities between companys?
Get two GL policies, WC under one company and sub contract from A to B to only need one WC policy

Re: GL Insurance
My companies are small.
I am the sole owner. I really just want a different name to advertise with. The company I have now does larger additions and remodels. The name and logo and ads were geared towards bigger projects. The markets is not so great for those projects right now. I want to advertise for smaller projects under a more fitting name. However, I still want to keep my existing company for larger projects when the market starts to pick up or for any referrals that come in. I figured that I'm already paying a small fortune for all my insurance and these smaller jobs still fit clearly under the coverage...so why pay twice. |
