Getting Back Into Business

Hi folks, well after a few years out of the business I've decided to get back into it. I'm thinking my old company name was too long and being in a new area than I used to be I figured I'd change it. I was kind of hoping y'all might have some suggestions. Business name used to be Bailey's First Class Remodeling. I'm looking to expand into new construction as well now not just remodels.

That is definitely true but I think I may get confused for a road side service company lol.

I was honestly thinking of changing to Bailey's Construction. Nice and simple and to the point. Whats everybody's opinion?

Re: Getting Back Into Business

Keep it simple. Two words. Baileys Construction, or, Baileys Remodeling.

People forget 3 words constantly. Try and remember someone's first middle and last name. Two words, most people can handle.

Forget about first class, economy or coach. Forget about Tip Top, Excellent or Master of the Universe. People don't care. Most just want to know Price and How Soon. It also helps if you have some info that shows that you know what you are doing. Save all that for the face to face.

Re: Getting Back Into Business

Thank you all for your advice. I'm definitely going to go with just Bailey's Construction. People used to always want to just call my old company Bailey's remodeling witch is why I thought maybe I should make it more plain and simple. Plus less words are easier to read on my truck.

Bailey Builders. Personally I prefer the word "builder" or "building" over "construction". Especially if you want to build new homes instead of or in addition to remodeling.

That rolls off the tongue nicely.

Re: Getting Back Into Business

You need to think about how your logo will look on various media like truck panels, yard signs, web sites, advertising pieces etc. Then you need to think how it will sound for things like radio ads, talking on the phone etc. Finally consider how unique it is for searches. If it is searched will you come up will a hundred other companies?

Once you have thought of that then next it is best to have a name that says what you do. Mine is Blue Sky Glass because I do replacement windows. The rest of the name should help position your company. "Blue Sky" is nice because it reflects a nice day, happiness, clean and clear.

For you Baileys is a throw away word that means nothing. Construction is good as it says what you do. First class is not bad but is a little over used and worn. But not bad. Maybe First Choice would be nice. Positions you as the one people want the most even if they can't afford you without saying they cannot afford you.
