Good advice. I did the do-it-yourself route and am now paying dearly for it.............get those payroll reports and monthly installment payments in there on time and do not make a mistake - NO MATTER WHAT.......Take it from me Uncle Sam does not care about your sob story

Re: Employee Paper Work

Companies like paychex.com and adp.com can do this all for you for a very reasonable price.

I don't know what the requirements are in your state, but yes you are required to report your empolyees earnings to the Federal government if that employee made at least $600.00. If you haven't done it for '08 you're running a bit late.

Like the others have said, a good payroll service can take care of this at reasonable prices.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that if Minnisota has a state income tax, then yes to both state and federal and yes to each employee.

Find a good accountant and get with them. Let them explain what your reporting requirements are and then decide if payroll is something you want to handle in-house or something you want to contract out to a specialty firm.

Asking that type of question is a sign that you might be missing other reporting requirements for your business as well.

Good luck.

Re: Employee Paper Work

Try to find a small and good cpa, who can give you good service. Our cpa does payroll for us, and is very patient with us when we are ignorant about other things too.
