Craigs List For Employement Ads

Since it was raining all day today I thought I would take a look at our local Craig's list. I have a job going on that I could use some help with so I put in an employment ad.

Much to my surprise, I've already gotten about 12 responses in 8 hours. 9 of them with great resumes and two of them are my competitors on about the same level as I am. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. The last ad I ran cost me $40 for the week and I got all sorts of riff raf to sort through. This one is free I'm happy

You might consider it next time you're looking for helpers

We hired a guy from Craigslist and will do it again. Lots to weed out though. I went through a good 30 before anyone realistic showed up.

I hired a day helper off of craigslist a few months back. Guy worked great, had his own tools, and transportation. Friday came and he was supposed to come pick up his pay, never showed. Been waiting and still have his pay in an envelope if he ever shows up.

Re: Craigs List For Employement Ads

I didn't really weed people out last time and picked up 2 big losers. I had atleast 5 calls/faxes/emails in a few days. 1 year ago, i couldn't find anyone willingt o work for less than $30, now nobody even has the nerve to ask for 25. Anyway your finding responces, because thousands of people are out of work.

Re: Craigs List For Employement Ads

I tried it and had good luck. Got two good resume's and one good employee. Hard worker, his own tools and transportation, AND had foreman exp. It kind of makes me wonder if things are really that bad out there.

My last two hires were from free Craigslist ads... They've both been outstanding additions to our team.
