Construction Conference - Is It Worth It?
I'm the owner of a small commercial construction company, $2m volume with three employees. I've gotten this far off common sense and plain talk. My goal is to keep growing.
I'd like to continue to learn, but most GC's aren't very open to sitting down and giving advice, what works/what doesn't. My next thought was to sign up for a national construction where they talk about this stuff. I'm looking at going to a construction conference that talks about contracts, estimating, case studies, etc. Has anybody ever been to any good conferences, please list by name? Are they even worth the cost/time off? Thanks. |

Well I need to say you need a good mentor. And the best place to find one is right here. I notice you only have 2 post so far but you need to keep coming back here and you will find your answer.
I have found some fantastic alliances here. The nice part is that you can PM anyone and ask more personal questions if need be. Sometimes you need a quick question answered and you can get that here. Yes you can go to different education classes. But you need constant contact with your mentor. You will find commerical contractors from all around the country here so do not be afraid to ask or answer some questions. Good luck and wecome aboard. |

Contractor Talk is a great place to get information, its got it all.
Humor, inspiration, love, hate, politics, religion and sex! Well, maybe not sex. At least as far as I know. Local building groups work for me. Consider NARI or BATC just to name two. Conferences are good, but take time to get to, and then its back home. Hang around here and check it out. Welcome
