Construction Bids

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for some advise please. I am a flooring contractor, mostly residential. I just got listed with the Blue Book to start submitting bids on commercial work. My question is, what is the best way to submit a bid, in other words, is there any good "proposal forms" or recommendations before/after submitting the bid, like a proposal accompanied with a letter or something like that. Well, I hope you have some good thoughts about this topic.
And remember good times are coming so just keep it up!!

Re: Construction Bids

I'm sorry to hear you have signed up for Blue Book. Do you have a Builders Exchange in your area. They offer free plan room services (to members) for commercial bid work. You best bet!

We used to bid to 3-4 GC per project with only a few trades competing. Now its 15-20 GC with 20 subs bidding per trade. I'm sure it is even worse in your area.

Re: Construction Bids

It sounds to me like you want to be a 'template' contractor. (which is fine, if you choose) You can get some examples on the file swap here, but I suggest you google 'contractor forms' and the like. Trust me, there are hundreds of companies out there that have open cell forms available for download.
