Claims Pages/Insurance Work.

I just got a call from someone who works for "the claims pages"
basically she wanted to know if i wanted to be in their claims book that insurance adjusters take on the field with them and call contractors depending on what type of job it is. you can name what county you want to be listed in, so that they don't make you travel farther than you want to.

it's 699 for 18 months, 1/4 page.

i'll be honest, i've never advertised in any newspaper, yellow pages, or phone book ever and have had steady business for 7 going on 8 years now.

I wanted to know if any of you guys out there have signed up with this company and if it was worthwhile or a waste of time. i'm not looking for work for a while because i'm booked into next summer at this point for large jobs.
I would think about this type of advertising for like fill in jobs while the large jobs are underway.

My main concern is with them trying to tell me what I should do the job for, based on some chart they have on how much a fire renovation should cost, or how much a window should cost to replace etc. I do mainly high end work when I am doing an addition/renovation etc. my fill in jobs are like decks, basements, windows, doors, baths and kitchens.

any of you guys using this service, have you been underpaid for insurance work or paid more for insurance work than if you had done the job directly for the homeowner.

any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dan

I need to call this woman back by friday, in order to get in the directory for feb 08. i almost didn't return her call, i ignored the first woman who called, for probably 6 calls and finally a different woman, maybe her boss called me to tell me how the process works.

Re: Claims Pages/Insurance Work.

I've met with 1000's of adjusters, and they do not carry this resourse with them. I know I know, but claims pages implied that your missing out on a ton of opportunity if you don't advertise there. It's all hogwash.

If you really want to get into doing insurance restoration in your local market here's my suggestion. And I base this on experiance also.

People with claims ask thier agent if they know any contractors, and on a whole not thier adjusters.

So put together a nice packet explaining your company and how your services will benefit the agents clients. Build a relationship with the agents and they will be inclined to pass you along to those who have claims.

Talk about a Vegas Boiler Room Operation-wow, I got a call for this guy and his telling me that his the Senior Executive Daniel Skilbred. Anyway, I thought that it may help. I gave a deposit and then I called Insurance adjusters in my area and come to find out none of them use the publication. So I called the Daniel and told him I would like to cancel, well once they got your money forget it they will not give it back and or cancel the order. Try to get to the VP Phillip Imbrenda and all you get is the same rep that sold you the ad telling you, you can't cancel nor will you get your deposit. BUYER BE WARE OF THIS COMPANY DO NOT GIVE THEM A DIME.

Re: Claims Pages/Insurance Work.

I've dealt with The Claims Pages now for going on 5 years. I was told from the beginning that this was a process to establish myself in the insurance industry. I was also told that I would need to work with my representative and that I would need to put forth effort on my side, which I did. And it worked. It didn't work overnight. It didn't even work the 1st year and barely the 2nd. However, by the 3rd year I did start seeing a very noticeable increase in insurance related work. Sure I invested $1100 each year for 3 years and then bam! I received a $67,000 water damage project. Invested 3300 returned 67000. Sounds pretty good to me. If you want insurance work, you gotta work for it.
