Cabin Industry

I wanted to know if anyone is in the cabin industry or had any experience. Actually, it would be just as interesting to hear from people if they believe there is much demand for wood cabins in general.

I've meet a person (group) who builds all wood cabins (approximately 800-1200 sq. ft), they have an open floor plan, loft to sleep in, and kitchen. All the material is old wood. I spoke with this person and they had told me I could resell them and he would ship them off. Do you think there would be any kind of demand for this?

Re: Cabin Industry

Around here people are going for the stick framed then put on the log siding. The fact that it is old wood is a plus (less shrinking and moving) but a real log home has alot of things against it. The settling and having to re-chink every few years. The log siding, if installed right, looks just as good IMO.

Re: Cabin Industry

Could be. Here in Colorado a log cabin might range in price from $30,000 all the way to $5,000,000. Are there any pics you can post?

Re: Cabin Industry

This guy near me does a killer business. He'll sell you the plans, a pre-cut kit or the finished cabin. He ships all over the northeast.
