Bonus Programs For Field Crew

So here's a challenging question.

EVERYBODY WANTS TO MAKE MORE MONEY, RIGHT?!?! Right.

Okay, so obviously you can't pay a higher hourly rate and be done with it. If you do that across the board its tough to be profitable, especially when your field crew isn't exactly efficient (hanging/finishing drywall room-by-room instead of step by step).

I'm looking for a way to a)increase profits by promoting efficient work on jobs and b)institute a bonus program to reward this work.

How can this be set up??

If you have crews hanging/taping/finishing one room before moving the next, you've got two problems- neither of which are going to be solved by a bonus program:

1. Crews that aren't properly trained and/or aren't qualified to be doing what they're doing.

2. Inadequate supervision, if you really think the guys doing the work are the right guys for the job.

Solve those problems before looking at paying anyone more money.

Bob is right.
