Re: Bids
We use Quickbooks estimates and include material specifications. That way the estimate can become the invoice and progress payments are easy to track.

Re: Bids
Stanley,
I think the best advice I could give you would be to google a bunch of different 'contractor proposal templates' or however you want to word it. Then make an excel file and use ideas from all of them to make your own that is specific to your company. If you are detail oriented at all you will find any other estimate form to be lacking something you would want on there. Another tip I would give you is to make it legal sized so that when you present it to the homeowner, you can fold the price at the bottom back until the end so you can explain your whole proposal without the homeowner staring at the price and not listening to you. Good luck. |

Re: Bids
you can go one step further and have them pre-printed in triplicate (white, yellow, pink) at www.topvalueprinting.com, I think it cost me $275 for 1000 copies. I have the conditions of my contract and warranty printed on the backside of each page of the triplicate proposals. This works unbelievably well for me.
