I'm looking to branch out on my own and was wondering if anyone can recommend a cheap company for liability insurance for G.C work.

You know..... it concerns me when I see the word "cheap". To find the "best" insurance is good, and to find the "most competitively priced" insurance is good, but to be just looking for the "cheapest" or "cheap" insurance is not necessarily a good thing.

You guys should know this..... how many of you complain about competitors who are "cheap" and do a lousy job? You take pride in providing quality workmanship and you know that often means you are not the lowest price, but you do the job right by your client.

The same goes with insurance. Make sure you have an experienced and qualified broker to advise you on what kind of insurance to get, and which insurance companies to go with a/o to avoid. (for example: AIG is not a very popular choice nowadays )

Astex...I think the word "cheap" is more the contractor vernacular then actually wanting the least expensive without good coverage... We are not all hot shot Harvard English majors here...

Let me rephrase... "Best Value" is what I mean. I am familiar with the phrase you get what you pay for, but the insurance rates are all across the board from one company to the next. I'm looking for a deal.
