Because thats all the people on CL care about!
I'd like to talk to you about the test. The last 3 GCS I have done work for are about as air headed as they come. I think they may need some competition.

Trim40,

How right you are ... can't believe how much work I have been doing for guys who aren't correctly licensed ...

I am taking the exam this Thursday and have been using International Residential Code for one-two story family dwellings 2009 edition to study ... $100 cost to take the test after being approved from Denver contractor licensing department. Approval requires two years of experience proved with notarized letters showing What projects ... Where and When you have carpentry experience from ...

Only 2 years exp? That's shorter than I thought. That explains my "luck" with some of the GCs I've been doing work for!

Yeah the test here is a joke, open book 80 questions, 2 years experience in the field, etc.. lot different than CT where I am from. Its easy but they will try to trip you up with trick questions and ask the same one 3 different ways with the same answer being correct.

They give you a "BarChart" showing how you did on each overall subject ... Guess I didn't spend enough time looking over Chimney section!

Re: Any Colorado Residential Contractors Lurking?

Isn't that 3' above the ridge or 10' away from a combustible surface?
I looked into the requirements for the test the other day. I would have to start builing my own outside Denver county to meet thier exp. requirements. I haven't framed since I moved here in 1989. I was a super for Melody homes for 6 mo.. Worst job I ever had.
I guess I'll just stick to what I'm doing.
