Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
There are 128 million existing homes in the U.S., a huge base of ready business for home-improvement professionals. The average age of the U.S. home is 32 years - prime remodeling age, and a time of needed repair or replacement. With the slowdown in the housing market, people are more likely to keep their existing home and maintain it rather than buy a new home.
The above is a set of the statistics that we used for MyOnlineToolbox to win a recent Forbes Americas Most Promising Company Award. While I am a technology company, it is the same positioning for an influx of opportunity that all of us should be prepared for. Sure, some of us will do better becuase extra work surrounds us. But others will do absolutely fantastics looking to search for the extra work, having it find them becuase they are more efficient and hopefully making more money becuase they run like a well oiled machined. Best of luck everyone. Brian

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
Thankfully we're still on a roll
Granted the jobs we're selling are'nt huge margins, but they're putting money in the account and keeping the guys busy. As of today we're offically booked out two months, which i'm nervious about with plow season upon us as we had problems scheduling a few yrs ago so i vowed to never work the 5 winter months other than sitting in the truck again (nice mental break too) but after such a dismal summer, i'll take what i can get and move bodies around accordingly.i too think next year could be good, there is not one good contractor here in town that i know of who is not swamped right now...hope the momentum keeps up |

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
It's almost a year later. I don't know about everybody else, but I have had a pretty good year. Maybe not the best market, but I can't complain. How about everybody else?

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
2010 was the worst year I have had in 19 years of business. But I am still in business which is more than 20% of the industry so, bring on 2011,

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
2010 is on par to be about the same as my 2001 1 year after i started this gig. In a word 2010 blows and sucks!

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
I think Mike was a year off, I think 2011 will be a fairly big year in most states, (CA. FL. NV not withstanding).
But I also thought that Swartzenegger would be a big boon to us in Calif. Andy.

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
2010 has not been a good year for us in SE Florida. Some of us are busy, but there isn't much money to go around. Working with a pretty sharp pencil nowadays.

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
Actually 'blows and sucks' is three words, but who's counting.
At this point, I'm looking to 2011. Hopefully the Nov elections will get some people into office who understand that penalizing the rich and raising taxes, particularly on business people, doesn't create jobs, it destroys them. |

Re: 2010 Is Going To Be HUGE!
2010 was a little better then 2009, but that ain't saying much. Generally speaking the last two years sucked...big time.
