What The Heck?

We are looking at a job here that is specifying the use of a "Fabra-Hood" box vent by Green Heck for venting purposes. Nobody I know of around here has any experience with these let alone hear of them (suppliers and roofers). I've looked at them onsite, they seem like a lot of overkill for just an attic vent, or am I missing something here? It doesn't look like they even have a nailing flange!

Does anybody have any experience or thoughts on these things?

Looks like junk to me, I would look for solar vent or have a sparky install 110 for a temp control fan.

Looks like they are a commercial exhaust designed for flat roofs. They are also all curb-mounted which is why you see no flange. They are wanting this on a residential job? If so I would say wrong application.

Things are getting stickier so I am trying not to out of bounds with things. If they ask for it they get it, unless of course it just won't work, as is the case with this. I often wonder how the heck spec people have a job. They have now decided to go with whatever we suggest .
