Venting A Cape?

I have another question about ventilation. I have a cape and it has 4 large gable vents. North, South, West, and East. I still have a temperature problem in the attic. I've read the previous post about not using ridge if I have those gables already venting. Should I still cut soffit holes since there aren't any and possibly go to some power vents at the gables? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

From what little I know, the soffit vents will help circulate fresh air through the attic via ridge OR gable venting.

So if you already have the gable vents, try some soffit vents and see if that helps.

There are too many venting questions for me to constantly repeat myself. http://www.contractortalk.com/search.php

If this is your roof, as it appears to be, then you are in the wrong forum. Please check out www.DIYchatroom.com
