Valleys

I am just seeking the opinions of those who weave valleys and those who follow through and cut the second layer. (California cut I believe its called).
I prefer the latter style. Please give me a reason for one or the other, it would help greatly.

Re: Valleys

The only shingles that we will still weave is a 3-Tab. Most men don't push Arc's tight enough for the whole valley. They may start tight bu by the time they do two or three valleys you can see the difference. I like the look of a cut valley and it's quicker so we cut 3-Tab's valleys most of the time. If a customer wants a weave we do charge extra.

Re: Valleys

only time I would weave a vally these days is when doing a cricket. When we did three tabs we used to weave them quite a bit. Many builders used to require it back then "thought it was tighter".
