Trying to recycle and help guys out

i have been a roofer for 27 years but recently broke my back in a fall and am left totally disabled.i dont get much money but i have a real love for roofing for some crazy reason! what i used to do was repair my old guns so i could keep guys working with less down time.i had a few guns laying around and with a few pieces for here and there was able to put together a gun.knowing alot of people in the biz i asked around for a hard worker who came every day but couldnt quite afford a gun....i got alot of people come to me.i gave the gun to a kid...got him going and now is a good roofer making good money and wanted to let me know he bought a brand new gun.....he was there to return the gun i gave him for his start.what i do now is look for people to donate or sell me cheap old broken down guns that i may salvage and help others like Ray get a start they may otherwise not get.sometimes if the gun is nice enough i ask for the cost of the parts it took to get it going but all my labor and work is free...i even mantain them for anyone who asks...just pay for parts.i love roofing and know what types of people it attracts and those crazy hard working guys sometimes need a boost.being compensated for my fall i am certainly not in it for the cash but at least help guys that need it by looking around for otherwise useless guns i can turn into a career beginning for someone.i have got mostly hitachi and 80% of them given to me or i buy have took a fall from the roof and broke the main body housing bolt holder rendering the gun a parts gun!!!if anyone would like to donate old parts or guns..or sell them reasonable...i can assure you it will be a start for someone looking for a small break or a reason to dive into a back breaking career that is very hard but taken for granted by the general public.STAY SAFE AND GOD BLESS.

REGARDS,

Im located in new york.and i have the most parts for the hitachi roofers and the bostitch roofers.those are what i try to get in the hands of the guys as i found them to be very reliable and easy to maintain.most the problems with things i recieve that are so called junk is the fact that they are neglected and dirty.i try to keep costs down and dont ever install new parts unless its a seal.other than that i wait for a used part and my attic looks like it as well!thanks for anyone that may be interested and as i said im not looking for hand outs or freebees...and if i incur any cost thats what the unit will sell for...unless its minimal.its something i only do locally as it would be impossible to screen would-be canidates for a cheap or free recycled gun on the web.one thing thats a must for me is i see the gun and where its going.the other thing as maybe this will srike up the minds of some other guys that are in a postion to help guys get into the field that you love so much.this is my way of helping in some small way but it could be a big way if others do the same....either the same as me in your own town or another field.give a guy the tools and he will learn most of the time and again in this day and chaging times your next guy you help may be a car salesmen or a finacial expert.they may need help like anyone else.so ill try and do my part to keep tools in their hands if anyone wants to help i think its a great idea.i know there are tons of guns laying around waiting to get another life and maybe help someones life.thanks for reply and interest.

regards,

done4fun

i have got some items promised to me...ill be getting 2 hitach gun in good shape but as i said ...housing mount for basket broke on a fall from the roof he said.anyway,,,i have a few guns i could make these into 2 guns for almost 3 guns.lets get some input as i would like to recieve some items here weather i have them given or you want a few bucks...i always pay shipping and do all i can to make donating or selling your old gun cheap.we need more though so ask around and see what we can come up with.like i said were not looking for someones gun but rather old or to costly to repair type of guns.i think it will rerally help get more people interested in actually laying some shingles as opposed to be a stripper and a shingle humper!!
