Tamco Heritage 30 Year

Maybe we need a faulty product category Nat?

I have a customer with Tamco Heritage 30yr archs on his roof, I installed about three years ago. The damn things are falling apart bad. This evening will be my second repair in this three year period.

Did Tamco get a bad run awhile back or what.

Info appreciated.

Re: Tamco Heritage 30 Year

Tamko definetly had a quality drop from past years as far as squareness and exposure constistancy but not delaminating or anything like that I am aware of.

Re: Tamco Heritage 30 Year

I have had no bad experiences at all with any of the Tamko Heritage 30's.

I noticed a little bit of spider-webbing on some of the 50 year Heritages.

The only ones that they have sold me that are complete crud have been the organic 3-tabs, called Reliance. I have not installed any of those in about 6-8 years because of how quickly the aged.

Re: Tamco Heritage 30 Year

I've been using tamko heritage for quite some time. I haven't had a problem at all with their heritage.

The roofers made some complaints about the dimensional stability of the 3-tab elites so we stopped using them (same thing tom m said)

Did you install these heritage's over an existing roof? Did you correct any ventilation issues when you installed the shingles? Did you call the manuf rep to come look at the roof now that it's failing?

Re: Tamco Heritage 30 Year

It just seems to be two places in one area .......bad bundle perhaps?

We haven't called a rep yet. the first repair was just one or two shingles. The second seems to be more like four.

As far as roof over? ....it was an off and on, over 3/4 board with very little to no spacing.

Ventilation looks good, not optimal, but in my opinion, adequate.

We have had problems with the sawtooth part of the Tamko laminate being a half inch too high or too low.
